Outdoor Boulder, photo shot list
This page lists only what I still need. If a shot is not here, it is not needed.
Currently needed
Three shots. That is the whole list.
| For | What I need |
|---|---|
| A dog on a trail | The best dog-friendly hikes page has no dog in its photo, the exact thing you spotted on the hiking-with-dogs page. Any Boulder trail, dog in frame, leashed. The one dog photo you sent is already in use on the other page. |
| Someone fishing | The fishing page shows a pond with nobody at it. A rod, a line in the water, or someone on a bank at Walden Ponds, Sawhill or the reservoir. It does not need to be a good catch, just visibly fishing. |
| You, on a Boulder trail | For the About page. Wide, from behind or in profile, no need to be recognizable, somewhere identifiably Boulder rather than generic mountains. Your portrait is already on that page; this is the header shot. |
Everything else is settled: 118 pages, 118 different photographs, each one showing what its page is actually about.
Ground rules
These apply to any shot you send, now or later.
- At least 1,600 pixels wide. This is the one that actually matters, and the only rule that has cost us anything: six photos so far were exactly the right subject and unusable on size alone. Your phone's default is fine; just avoid screenshots and texted-down copies.
- Landscape / horizontal for the big top-of-page shot. Verticals are great for in-body detail shots.
- Blue sky with white clouds if you can, midday to late afternoon. Skip flat gray days.
- Shoot wide first, then closer detail shots. Don't crop or edit, I'll handle that.
- People are fine but aim wide. No identifiable faces filling the foreground.
- Real photos only. The whole site runs on genuine photographs of the actual places, so an AI-generated or stock image would undercut it.
- Drop them in the folder or text them over. Filenames don't matter, but tell me roughly where each batch was taken.
