Grok's Verity Agentic Site Audit
Reviewed by xAI's Grok Build CLI on August 11, 2026, reading the live site and the project repo. Nothing here has been acted on yet.
How to read this
This is Grok's unedited assessment, not mine. I ran it against the live site and the VerityAgentic repo together, in read-only mode, and asked for blunt specifics rather than general advice. I have not changed a single file on the site.
Two things to hold in mind while you read. First, it argues hard for one strategic decision (coaches and therapists versus general small business) that is genuinely yours to make, and a lot of its copy advice hangs off that choice. Second, its suggested headlines are starting points in its voice, not yours, so treat them as direction rather than final text.
1. POSITIONING: is the offer clear in 5 seconds?
What a cold visitor gets in 5 seconds
- H1: “Stop doing work / Your AI system should be doing.”
- Sub: “Verity Agentic builds AI systems for 1-to-10-person businesses: client intake, follow-ups, routing…”
- CTA: “GET THE FREE CONSULT”
Verdict: partially clear, not sharp
| Element | Status | What’s vague |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Soft | “1-to-10-person businesses” is size, not buyer. Business plan beachhead is coaches/therapists; homepage barely owns it (one footer-ish link in services). |
| What | Medium | Intake / follow-ups / routing is good. “Agentic AI consulting” and “The Verity Agentic System” re-fog it. |
| Why you | Strong but late | 1995 / Capgemini / operator-not-technologist is gold, but first proof band is a long self-pullquote before client results. |
| Offer | Confusing | Free consult is everywhere; $500 Bottleneck Audit (the real entry product) is buried. |
H1 problem: “Your AI system should be doing” assumes they already have/want an “AI system.” Many buyers think “I’m drowning in admin,” not “I need agentic AI.”
Category problem: “Agentic” is peer language, not buyer language. Use it in articles; lead with the job.
ICP split (repo vs live):
BUSINESS-PLAN.md says beachhead = Boulder coaches/therapists via RISE. Live homepage sells general SMB. That split dilutes both conversion and SEO.
Positioning rewrite (use as north star)
For solo and small service businesses (especially coaches and practices) who are still the system: we map the bottleneck, then build the intake / follow-up / routing so it runs without you, in weeks, not a six-month pilot. Built by an operator who’s been shipping internet systems since 1995.
2. COPY: weak lines + rewrites
A. Homepage H1 (highest leverage)
Now:
Stop doing work
Your AI system should be doing.
Problems: Awkward split (“work Your”), assumes AI system, no buyer, no outcome.
Alternatives (pick one):
-
Outcome + who (recommended):
Stop being the system in your own business.
We build the intake, follow-ups, and routing so a 1–10 person service business runs without you. -
Beachhead-sharp (if you own coaches/therapists on the home page):
You’re the bottleneck in your own practice.
We automate intake, scheduling, and follow-up, compliance-aware for therapists, freer and faster for coaches. -
Anti-hype (closer to current voice):
No more chasing follow-ups at 10 p.m.
Working AI workflows for small service businesses. Built in 1–2 weeks. No pilot purgatory.
B. Eyebrow + founder note
Now:
“Agentic AI consulting by Annette Thompson, AI systems consultant”
“Leader: Annette Thompson”
Problems: Double “consultant”; “Leader:” is corporate cosplay on a solo site.
Rewrite:
AI systems for small service businesses · Boulder, CO
Built by Annette Thompson (internet systems since 1995)
C. Self-pullquote before client proof
Now (first band after hero):
“I'm not a technologist who learned business. I'm a business operator who mastered technology…”
Problem: You claim operator credibility about yourself before showing a third party. Bob should sit here.
Fix: Move self-pullquote below Bob/Ben, or to About. Lead with Bob.
D. “The Verity Agentic System”
Now:
“AI strategy, workflow design, and practical agent builds for teams ready to stop duct-taping their operations together. As an AI systems consultant, Annette brings 30 years of systems thinking to every agentic AI engagement.”
Problem: Consultant brochure. “Teams” fights “1-to-10 / just me.” Features (Agentic Workflows, AI Operations, Governance & Guardrails) sound enterprise.
Rewrite section title + sub:
What changes when we work together
You stop being the routing layer. Intake lands clean, follow-ups go out on trigger, handoffs don’t live in your head, and a human only touches the decisions that matter.
Replace feature cards with outcome cards:
| Cut | Replace with |
|---|---|
| Agentic Workflows | New client setup without you, form → score/route → reply → calendar, unattended |
| AI Operations | Still working next quarter, we document fragility and optionally retain |
| Custom Automations | Your weird process, not a Zap template, built around your tools |
| Team Enablement | You can change it, prompts, maps, handover (HourHound proof) |
| Governance & Guardrails | Human review where stakes are real, especially for licensed practices |
Before/After today:
| BEFORE | AFTER |
|---|---|
| Manual data entry | Agent handles intake |
| 5 follow-up emails | Automated at trigger |
| Missed handoffs | Zero-gap routing |
| You doing the work | System doing the work |
Problem: Generic; “Zero-gap routing” is jargon.
Rewrite:
| BEFORE | AFTER |
|---|---|
| You read every new inquiry | Inquiry scored and routed by rules you set |
| Follow-up sits until Friday | Triggered reply goes out the same day |
| Handoff lives in your head | Next step is assigned with a check |
| You’re the only person who knows the process | Process is written, built, and monitored |
E. Contact hero
Now:
Tell us what still runs through you. We'll tell you what comes next.
Problem: Clever; “runs through you” is abstract for a form page.
Rewrite:
Tell us where the work still waits on you.
We’ll tell you whether AI is the fix, or a simpler one is.
F. About page density
About is strong raw material, but it repeats the same arc 3–4 times (1995 → Ethiopia → Capgemini → E-Teach → dogs → AI). A skeptical buyer skims once, then bounces.
Fix today: One timeline, one “why this matters for your business” block, one testimonial, one CTA. Move long narrative to a single “From 1995” article (you already have building-systems-since-1995).
3. CONVERSION: path and leaks
Intended path
Home / article / coaches page → GET THE FREE CONSULT → long form → calendar → free call → maybe $500 audit → build
Actual funnel diagram
Land → proof/jargon mix → Free Consult CTA
↓
Contact form (10 fields, several required)
↓
Calendar (if they finish)
↓
Call → Bottleneck Audit (if they still have energy)
Leak map
| # | Leak | Evidence | Fix today | Impact / effort |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Paid offer orphaned from nav | Nav = ABOUT, BLOG, CASE STUDY, PRICING. No AUDIT. Bottleneck Audit is the money page. | Add AUDIT (or $500 AUDIT) to nav sitewide; link from hero secondary CTA | High / S |
| 2 | Form is too hard for “free 15 min” | Required: interest, name, email, team size, inquiries/week, message. Optional but present: tools, hours lost, revenue, source, company | Split: name, email, “what’s stuck” to unlock calendar; rest optional or post-book | High / S–M |
| 3 | Every CTA is free call; ready buyers can’t buy | Bottleneck Audit CTAs all go to /contact free consult |
Primary: “Book the $500 audit” (Stripe or invoice + short form); secondary: free fit call | High / M |
| 4 | Homepage never sells the $500 product above the fold | Audit appears in FAQ + footer; “The one free offer” section is only the consult | Add band under hero: Bottleneck Audit, from $500, credited to build with link | High / S |
| 5 | Two free offers compete | Quiz exists; homepage “one free offer” is consult; quiz not in that story | Pick one top-of-funnel free thing. Quiz = content CTA only, not peer of consult | Med / S |
| 6 | Case study nav points to one article | “CASE STUDY” → Rebuilding only | “CASE STUDIES” index or hub of 3–4 | Med / S |
| 7 | Coaches page is the ICP page but not in nav | Beachhead page is discoverable only if you already know it | Nav link COACHES & THERAPISTS or homepage hero chip | High for beachhead / S |
| 8 | No risk reversal on paid audit | Fee credit only if they continue | Optional: “If we don’t find 3 concrete fixes, you don’t pay” (your call) | Med / S |
CTA language
“GET THE FREE CONSULT” is fine and consistent. Better outcome variants for testing:
- Primary:
GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER IN 15 MINUTES - Paid:
BOOK THE $500 BOTTLENECK AUDIT - Secondary:
SEE PRICING
Avoid “GET THE FREE CONSULT” on the Bottleneck Audit page as the only button, it demotes the product you’re selling.
4. CREDIBILITY: what a skeptical SMB buyer still lacks
What you have (use harder)
- Bob Manthy: specific, technical, named business, LPC, best asset on the site
- Ben / HourHound: strong for “enablement / audit quality,” weaker for “I run a coaching practice”
- Rebuilding case study: unusually honest about gated production
- Public pricing, trust win vs competitors who hide price
- 30-year builder story, unique, not copyable
What’s missing (buyer needs)
| Missing proof | Why it matters | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Hours saved / $ recovered on a client system | SMB buyers buy relief and money, not architecture | Even one line: “~X hrs/week off intake for [type of practice]” (anonymized OK) |
| Non-partner client in beachhead | Bob attribution includes “and my partner, who gave me the unvarnished version”, authenticity for you, discount for strangers | Keep Bob; get 1 coach/therapist or service-business client who is not family; or lead with Ben + anonymized third |
| Outcome numbers on Rebuilding homepage claim | Homepage/case teaser: “system that runs itself”; case study: production integration still gated | Align copy: “built and verified scoring + response; live rollout client-gated” OR wait until production is live to claim “nobody touches it” as present tense on the home teaser |
| Sample Automation Makeover | Audit page has a coaching example skeleton, good; homepage doesn’t show deliverable shape | Lift 1 Makeover card onto homepage “what $500 gets you” |
| Third-party presence | No Clutch/Google Business/LinkedIn recommendation block | Google Business Profile for Boulder + 2 LinkedIn recs on About |
| “We use what we sell” demo | Quiz/nurture exist but aren’t shown as a live system walkthrough | 60-second “this site’s own intake → nurture” GIF or short section |
Bob line: keep the quote, fix placement of the partner clause
Quote is excellent. Attribution problem:
Bob Manthy… · and my partner, who gave me the unvarnished version
On homepage primary proof: many buyers read “this is her husband, so of course.”
Fix: Full quote on homepage without partner clause; put partner honesty on About or case study footer. Don’t delete truth, stop leading with it.
Self-case studies (31,310 keywords / 7 countries)
Problem (already flagged in panel notes): Proves you can build your businesses, not that you’ve fixed their intake.
Fix: Relabel section:
Operator track record (systems I’ve run myself)
then separate
Client work
Don’t put dog-rescue SEO next to “AI for your practice” without that frame.
5. SEO / GEO: what you should rank for vs gaps
Already strong
- Technical health, speed work done (per
SEO-RECOMMENDATIONS.md) - FAQPage + Person + ProfessionalService schema
- ~28 articles, sitemap,
llms.txt, AI crawlers allowed - Pricing transparency content (
ai-consulting-costs-2026, comparison pieces)
Should rank for (and currently under-own)
| Intent cluster | Example queries | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| Local | “AI consultant Boulder”, “AI automation Boulder CO”, “small business AI Colorado” | Boulder only in footer/schema/FAQ; no landing page or H1 |
| Vertical beachhead | “AI for coaches”, “therapy practice intake automation”, “HIPAA-aware marketing automation therapist” | Page exists (/for-coaches-and-therapists) but thin internal links + not in nav |
| Job-to-be-done | “automate client intake small business”, “automate follow up emails service business” | Buried in copy; no dedicated page titled for the job |
| Category buyer | “agentic AI consulting for small business”, “AI systems consultant” | Home title is good; need supporting pages with that exact framing |
| Commercial investigation | “AI consulting cost”, “bottleneck audit automation” | Costs article exists; product page underlinked |
Competitor set (how you lose)
| Competitor type | What they do that you don’t |
|---|---|
| Boutique AI implementers (Neurons Lab–class content shops) | Clear service pages, industry pages, metric case studies |
| Zapier/Make freelancers | Cheap, visible packages, “intake automation $X” productization |
| Local Boulder/Denver digital + ops consultants | Google Business, local citations, “near me,” meetup presence |
| Enterprise AI | You correctly don’t compete, stop borrowing their stats as homepage proof |
GEO (AI-answer engines)
You already did a lot right (FAQ schema, llms.txt, clear entity: Annette + Verity + Boulder). Gaps:
- One crisp “What is Verity Agentic?” definition repeated identically on home, about, llms.txt (mostly good, keep synchronized).
- Cite client outcomes as facts, not only quotes (models quote numbers).
- Local entity page: “AI systems consulting in Boulder, Colorado” with NAP consistency, service area, and RISE/local proof.
- Cut keyword meta tags, noise; not used by Google (
name="keywords"on home still present).
SEO actions today (ordered)
- Put Bottleneck Audit + Coaches page in internal link graph from home/nav (crawl + conversion).
- Add Boulder to homepage subhead once (not spammy): “Based in Boulder, working with US service businesses.”
- Create or retitle one page: “Automate client intake for small service businesses” (can be a thin landing that points to audit).
- Case study URLs are fine under
/articles/; add a Case studies hub at/case-studiesthat 301-friendly lists them (you currently 404 that path, people and AI will try it). - Fix any .com vs .ai dual-host residual (historical audit issue) so one domain owns rankings.
6. WHAT TO CUT (actively hurting)
| Cut or demote | Why it hurts |
|---|---|
| Enterprise 95% / 92% stat band as homepage centerpiece | “95% of enterprise AI pilots failed” is not your buyer’s world; it reads like borrowed authority. Keep in an article; not mid-funnel proof. |
| Self-pullquote above client proof | Sounds self-congratulatory before third-party proof. |
| “Leader: Annette Thompson” | Empty corporate label. |
| “The Verity Agentic System” + 5 enterprise feature names | Dilutes the concrete offer (intake/follow-up/routing). |
| Homepage claim that overruns Rebuilding production gates | Honesty on the case study + hard claim on the teaser = trust tax for careful readers. |
| Partner clause on primary homepage attribution | Discounts the best testimonial for cold traffic. |
| Quiz as peer free offer (if consult is primary) | Splits action; homepage already says “the one free offer.” |
| About page triple-biography | Fatigue; reduces conversion from About. |
meta keywords |
Useless clutter. |
| Nav “CASE STUDY” singular to one URL | Looks thin; implies only one. |
Ranked action list (impact / effort)
Do these in order. S = same day, M = 1–2 days.
| Rank | Action | Problem | Fix | Impact | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Shorten contact form to 3 fields | Free consult feels like a job application | Required: name, email, “what’s stuck.” Everything else optional or after book | Very high | S |
| 2 | Nav: AUDIT + (optional) COACHES | Money page and ICP page are side quests | Replace or sit beside CASE STUDY / BLOG | Very high | S |
| 3 | Homepage hero rewrite + secondary CTA to audit | 5-second message is “AI consulting,” not “fix my busywork for $500” | H1 rewrite above; buttons: Free 15 min | See $500 Audit | Very high | S |
| 4 | Homepage band: Bottleneck Audit product | Best page is orphaned | Steal structure from audit page: price, 3–5 day Makeover, credit to build | High | S |
| 5 | Reorder proof: Bob → Ben → operator track record → bio | Self first, buyer second | Move pullquote; relabel self case studies | High | S |
| 6 | Align homepage claims with Rebuilding gates | Overclaim risk | Soften teaser verbs until production is live, or ship production | High | S |
| 7 | Direct-buy path for $500 audit | Ready money forced through free call | Stripe Payment Link + “already know you want the audit” | High | M |
| 8 | Own beachhead on home or stop pretending | Plan vs site mismatch | Either elevate coaches/therapists in hero/nav, or rewrite business plan to general SMB | High | S (decision) + S (copy) |
| 9 | One quantified client outcome | No hours/$ proof | Anonymized is fine: “cut intake handling from ~X hrs/week to ~Y” | High | M (needs real number) |
| 10 | Case studies hub at /case-studies |
404 on expected URL; proof scattered | Index of 4 case studies with 1-line outcomes | Med | S |
| 11 | Boulder local block + GBP | No local SEO surface | Footer NAP, short “Boulder AI systems consulting” section, Google Business | Med | M |
| 12 | Cut enterprise stats from home | Wrong proof for SMB | Move to article; replace with before/after of a real workflow | Med | S |
| 13 | About page compress | Length without conversion | One timeline + one CTA | Med | M |
| 14 | Risk reversal on audit | $500 still feels like a leap | Simple guarantee language | Med | S (policy) |
| 15 | GEO polish | Already good foundation | Sync one-sentence firm definition; add outcome facts models can cite | Med | S |
What to do today (2–3 hour pack)
If you only touch five things:
- Contact form → 3 required fields.
- Nav → add Bottleneck Audit; consider Coaches & Therapists.
- Hero H1 + subhead rewrite (outcome + who; demote “agentic”).
- Homepage product band for the $500 audit with hard link.
- Proof order: Bob first without partner clause on home; self stats relabeled “systems I ran myself.”
That package attacks conversion leak, offer clarity, and credibility sequence without a redesign.
What is not the problem
- Visual brand (noir / yellow / pink), distinctive; don’t beige it.
- Article library volume, enough; distribution and internal linking are the issue.
- Honesty tone, keep it; it’s a real differentiator.
- Public pricing, keep it; fix any residual ladder confusion (live pricing and coaches page now both show from $1,500 / $500 retainer, good if intentional).
One strategic decision you still need (blocks clean copy)
Is the public face “Boulder coaches & therapists” or “any 1–10 person US service business”?
- If coaches/therapists: homepage must say so in the H1/subhead and nav. Bob + compliance page become the spine.
- If general SMB: demote the coaches page to a segment example; stop writing the business plan as if RISE is the whole GTM.
Right now the site says general; the plan says niche. That single ambiguity is why a lot of “good” copy still doesn’t convert.
No files were edited. If you want a follow-up, I can turn rank 1–5 into exact paste-ready HTML copy blocks page-by-page (still without deploying).
