Where Fable Actually Beats Opus

Short version: don't use Fable as a workhorse. Use it as a judgment amplifier. Opus 4.8 already handles the vast majority of the pipeline (the YouTube digests, classification, tagging, deploys, meta tags, recipe generation, most drafting and triage), and there's no reason to spend Fable on any of that.
Fable's real edge is at the seats where being wrong is expensive and the right answer has to be reasoned out, not retrieved. There are four of those seats in the portfolio.
Frontier scientific synthesis for the health brands
Best useThe single best use. SmartStrongAlive, the APOE4 and Alzheimer's material, and Vitalency's medical claims all live or die on reconciling contradictory literature and getting the mechanisms right. Opus produces health content that reads confident and is subtly wrong: a study cited slightly out of context, a claim that's directionally true but mechanistically off.
With Annette's Medical Technology background and a skeptical audience of women over fifty, a plausible-but-wrong claim costs trust and E-E-A-T, which is the whole moat. Fable's edge is knowing what it doesn't know and catching the claim a sharp endocrinologist would flag before publish. Put Fable in the expert-panel judge seat of content-eval, content-ops, and research-director, not the generator seat.
Genuinely adversarial critique
The skeptic seatOpus tends to be a yes-and machine. The marginal intelligence shows up as actually finding the fatal flaw. Use Fable for the challenge step in IdeaForge, killing weak business ideas, pre-mortems on strategy, and positioning stress-tests. Give it the skeptic's chair, not the cheerleader's.
Indistinguishable-from-Annette voice on flagship pieces
Not every postNot every post. But launch content and brand-defining pieces, where the hard anti-AI-voice rule really bites, are where taste and nuance separate Fable from Opus. The gap between "good enough" and "no one can tell a machine touched this" is the margin Fable adds. Reserve it for the pieces that carry the brand.
The hardest cross-project strategic reasoning
One-off, high-leverageOne-off, high-leverage: portfolio prioritization across the 8 scoring dimensions with runway and interdependencies, or spotting the non-obvious connection between assets. Second-order-effects thinking, not task execution.
The through-line: deploy Fable at decision points and quality gates, not the production line. Retrieval, formatting, or "just make the thing" is Opus. "Don't let me ship something subtly wrong" or "find the flaw I can't see" is Fable.
Concrete next move: upgrade the judge and panel step in the existing scoring skills (content-eval, content-ops, evaluate-idea, autoresearch) to route to Fable, while the generation steps stay on Llama and Opus.
