Why this is the route

Confirmed today with the Chrome extension: opening a paywalled paper in your own browser hits the same paywall. You have no institutional access, so no amount of automation gets past it. Islam 2019, the one your core claims rest on, is paywalled in your browser exactly as it is to a script.

Authors are a different matter. They hold the right to send their own accepted manuscript, and most are glad to be asked by someone who has actually read around their work.

Nothing has been sent. Tell me which to send, or say send all, and I will.

The wording

Short on purpose. A specific, human, five-line request outperforms a formal one.

Dear Dr [Name],

I am writing about your paper, "[Title]" ([Journal], [Year]).

I am a medical technologist writing about testosterone in women, and I read the primary literature rather than summaries of it. Your paper sits behind a paywall I do not have access to. If you are able to send a copy of the accepted manuscript, I would be very grateful, and I will cite it properly.

The address is usually printed on the paper's own abstract page or the author's university profile. These are still reachable, they just need a human eye rather than an index lookup.
